Many BWRT therapists are getting excellent results with their clients using Relationship Trauma Protocol. Read their testimonials below.

Annalisa Manca

I've had the opportunity to use Adam's Relationship Trauma Protocol multiple times with various clients, and I have been thoroughly impressed with its effectiveness. What makes this protocol particularly valuable is its ability to address relationship-related trauma—whether with parents, ex-partners, siblings, or friends—even in situations where imagining a preferred response or outcome is impractical. By incorporating the concept of a "restorative relationship"—a powerful psychotherapeutic tool that highlights past positive connections—the protocol allows clients to shift their perception of self and reduce the emotional burden of traumatic memories. In practice, I have found that clients not only respond well to the process but genuinely enjoy it. [Dr Annalisa Manca’s full review can be read here]

The very intelligent and beautifully written Relationship Trauma Protocol (RTP) that Adam has produced has proved invaluable in my own practice as a Registered BWRT Advanced Practitioner. This protocol has proved its versatility and adaptability in giving relief not only when clients have experienced trauma in their human relationships but remarkably, as my specialism is riding confidence, when my clients have lost their trust in their horse. I use the RTP several times every week and it's effect is profound. Giving people their sense of self back is incredibly powerful and so important, and Adam's RTP does exactly that. A much needed and very valuable tool.

I am a BrainWorking Recursive Therapist in Brisbane, Australia. When I received my first domestic violence client I was not sure that I could help her due to my inexperience being relatively new to the psychotherapy industry. I knew, however, that a colleague Adam Waterhouse had created a relationship trauma protocol so I got in touch with him. As a result of him sharing his knowledge and experience I was able to get transformational change in my client in just one session. As therapists we can now have life changing effects on domestic violence survivors and that’s a wonderful thing.

In my work as a Trauma Therapist I regularly use BWRT protocols in order to resolve the most complex of trauma issues, and one of my most loved of these protocols is the Relationship Trauma Protocol (RTP) developed and written by Adam. It is incredibly effective at shifting the brain’s response to almost any relationship trauma, allowing the brain to focus on positive and restorative relationships, rather than those of abuse, control or trauma. It’s also brilliant for helping clients move on from organisational trauma (eg Moral Injury, Bullying, Institutionalised Behaviours) that they have encountered during service in the police or military roles.

It’s wonderful to see a client smile as the weight of a traumatic relationship is suddenly lifted and they find themselves feeling overwhelmingly positive instead. In my work as a Registered BWRT Practitioner I love using Adam's Relationship Trauma Protocol. It provides a means of resolving trauma very quickly in a way that not only causes no distress but can actually be life enhancing for the client. By focussing on restorative relationships it can help the client gain a new perspective, strengthen their self-esteem and feel so much better.
